Book Sale2

You can either bring your books to our monthly meeting tomorrow, 23rd May, or to our monthly meeting on 27th June.   So clear out all those old books and make room on your shelves for some new summer reading!

There is a lot happening at Market Harborough WI over the next few months so you might want to make a note of the following events for your diary:

This Wednesday, 23rd May 2018 –  our Monthly Meeting

We will have Matthew Kefford coming to talk to us about Medical Detection Dogs.  These fantastic dogs are trained to detect major life-threatening diseases.   Sure to be a fascinating talk.

Also, don’t forget to sign up/pay for some of our forthcoming social events:

Tuesday, 3rd July, at 11 am – Walking with Alpacas in Charnwood Forest

Listen to a short talk all about alpacas, followed by a chance to walk with the alpacas in the forest.   Plenty of chances to take those selfies with the alpacas!  Afterwards enjoy some delicious pancakes!

Saturday, 18th August – Family Day Out to Wistow Maze

This is a chance to bring your friends, family and children along for a fun day out trying to find your way around Wistow Maze.

Thursday, 13th September (provisional) – Botanic Gardens, Oadby, Leicester at 2pm

Guided tour around these lovely gardens, followed by tea and cake.

A coach full of members from Market Harborough WI set off early on Friday morning, 18th May 2018 to visit the Emma Bridgewater Pottery Factory in Stoke-on-Trent.

On arrival, we were taken on a very  interesting tour of this friendly and homely Victorian factory.  We were introduced to various traditional crafts people, such as the jiggers, the jolliers, the fettlers, the casters and the decorators as they transformed lumps of clay into the lovely designs that we have come to recognise as the hallmark of  Emma Bridgewater.
