Whilst it may not be the most inviting weather to be pottering around on the allotment, behind the scenes the enthusiasm for planning the growing season to come is thriving!
Members met earlier this month (indoors!) to chat about what they would like to do with the allotment. We have decided to try out some unusual or untried varieties. Aubergines, corn and kohlrabi were mentioned. Craft club have been asked to help make a scarecrow! Hopefully our greenhouse will be glazed by March.
We are trying to get a bit extra allotment space, ideally the adjacent plot to the north of ours.
We would love to plan social events at the allotment, both for us and other WI members. Let us know if you have any ideas you’d like to share.
We plan to sell seedlings at the March garden themed meeting.
Our next meeting will be on Monday 11th February at 3pm. If you are interested in helping out with the allotment or would just like to pop down to see how its coming along, drop Anne an email firstname.lastname@example.org
