Canal Boats, Bridges and Locks

The sun was out and the weather was glorious when the Walking Club met for their monthly walk at Welford Warf.

The village of Welford lies on the road connecting Northampton and Leicester and, being halfway between the two, was an important stagecoach stop in the old days. It also lies on an arm of the Grand Union Canal and near the Welford Reservoir. The area offers a myriad number of walks, but the one chosen took the group along the canal and back to Welford through open country side.

And as always there was a well deserved drink to be had at the end – this time at the Warf Inn back in Welford
