Sustainable Sparkles at the MHWI Craft Club

At the July Craft Club session Annie Bisiker from The Colour Studio (The Colour Studio) showed the group how to make stunning jewellery from paint skins. Paint skins are sheets of dried paint left behind in the paint tray after Annie’s paint pouring art projects are completed.

To give us an idea how the paint skins are generated, Annie gave a demonstration of how the paints are mixed, layered and poured – definitely a job that requires gloves and an apron!

After that, the hardest bit was to choose what type of jewellery to make and which colour paint skin to use from the pile that Annie had provided. In comparison to that, actually making the pieces was easy under her expert guidance.

The results were amazing – judge for yourself! Great fun and great results – thank you Annie!
