Some of the MHWI Craft Club members have given Zoom a trial run this week to see how going the digital route could be used to facilitate members catching up, sharing crafting ideas and showing off completed projects. And we are pleased to announce that the Virtual Craft Club will now meet via Zoom at the usual monthly slot of the first Thursday of each Month!
Last Thursday was an opportunity to have a ‘knit and natter’, catch up and have a look at the crafting projects everyone was working on. Everyone has been busy filling their lock-down time honing existing skills or trying out new ideas. Here is a selection of completed projects we discussed:
The crafts involved range from sewing (dog bandana and apron), to crochet (the dog and rabbit toys) to paper craft (the paper animals used to illustrate a bed time story and the rainbow wreath). And we all decided to give the Flower Hammering a try, where flowers are placed between fabric and ‘hammered’ until a print is achieved. Can’t wait!
The next Virtual Craft Club meeting will be on Thursday, 6th August at 7pm. If you are a member of the Market Harborough WI and would like to take part, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get on the distribution list for the Zoom meeting access details. And if you are not a member yet – may be think about joining the WI? We always welcome new members!
