At this week’s monthly meeting of the Market Harborough WI members turned the church hall on Fairfield Road into a flower arranging extravaganza.
With the help of Sharon Badger and her assistant our members turned their hands at making arrangements from basic supermarket mixed bunches of flowers. It was great fun and the aroma of the blooms in the room was amazing. The meeting was so well attended that there was no room to move or indeed photograph all of the amazing displays. So here are just a few impressions from the evening:

Standing with Giants is a registered charity founded by Dan Barton, a community artist, who has been organising large scale rememberance displays to honor the soldiers that have fought and died for their country.
WIs from around the country have been supporting Dan by crafting poppies for the displays and at MHWI we have been asking members to make and donate poppies for this year’s effort. The deadline for handing them in was this week’s monthly meeting. We are proud to say that our members collectively have crafted over 80 poppies, which we will be sending to Standing with Giants
They look absolutely fabulous – thank you so much to everyone who contributed!
