A nearly full house of MHWI members enjoyed a fun Christmas meeting this week with a great session by Katherine Wright on sustainable present wrapping options. Members also had the chance to make their own bag from recycled papers such as wallpaper samples and old maps. Excellent fun and a great way to recycle even more. All this was accompanied by a lovely Dutch Supper and the launch of our program for the coming year – more details of this to follow shortly on this website.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and all the very best for a successful, healthy and content New Year!

The next monthly meeting is on 18th December – a week earlier than our usual slot.

To help us on our way to being organised for Christmas in true WI style, we will have a session with Katherine Wright about sustainable wrapping. We will also be having a Dutch Supper, so please remember to bring along your favorite dish and drink and don’t forget your own plate, cutlery and glass to avoid using single use plastic.
Members of the Market Harborough WI spent an enjoyable evening learning how to do Chrickenscratch Embroidery for Christmas Decorations. Thank you Fiona for a fun evening learning new skills!

And just in case you did not notice: 21 Days to Christmas!
Delighted to have our Allotment Club featured in the latest edition of WI Life Magazine. Check out the article on page 49 on the goings on at 41A Cricket Pitch View… And if you would like to join our group why not chat to one of us at the next meeting or contact us at marketharboroughwi@gmail.com

At the next meeting Fiona will demonstrate Chicken Scratch Embroidery. We will be providing all the materials so everyone can have a go at sewing a few cross stitches onto gingham fabric and start their own Christmas card. Please bring your own scissors!
There will also be a special Raffle this month with prizes made and donated by members of the Craft Club. Hope to see you all there!
