Rosie makes Chutney!

Last night’s social evening saw members of the Market Harborough WI learning how to make mango chutney from Rosemary of Rosie makes Jam. Some members were organised enough to cook along while the rest of us took notes and watched the chutney come together.

Rosie Makes Chutney

While Rosemary demonstrated her craft she also imparted a lot of good advice on subjects such as stocking a pantry and rotating stock, the best way to stash surplus produce in the freezer, the myriad of lid sizes for jam jars and the best way of removing bubbles from the finished product.

For those of you that could not make it last night, here are some useful links that Rosemary shared with us during the Zoom session yesterday:

Rosie’s Recipes:                      https://www.recipes.rosiemakesjam.com/

Rosie’s Blog:                           http://blog.rosiemakesjam.com/

Rosie’s Online Magazine:        https://www.lovejars.co.uk/simply-preserved/

And if you are as puzzled as the rest of us as to how to get new lids for your jars or get more jars for the lids you have, here is Rosie’s list of sizes:

Jam Jar Size Gauge:              https://www.lovejars.co.uk/faq/jar-lid-size-gauge/

Enjoy forraging and preserving!
