The Gardening Team at the Allotment in Stevens Street have put in some serious spade work and watering time this year.
All the effort is now paying off with bumper crops as we start the harvesting – a few weeks earlier than last year just like everything else this season. Piece de Resistance is the amazing aubergine from the greenhouse – the first time EVER we have managed to grow one larger than a chicken egg. Which just shows that patience and perseverance make good gardeners. And due to the amount of rain (and watering!) the blackberries, courgettes and tomatoes are top class and plentyfull this year.
Our next job will be to google recipes for courgettes….
