Join us for a Table Skittles Evening at the Bull’s Head in Clipston, LE16 9RT at 7.45pm!

The cost per person is £ 10,- including your choice of food from the following menu options:
  • Homemade Steak and Mushroom Pie with Chips and Peas
  •  Homemade Lasagne with Garlic Bread
  •  Pan fried Mushroom Stroganoff with Rice
  •  Homemade Curry and Rice
  •  Homemade Chilli con Carne with Rice
To book, please email janet.cooper007@gmail.com before the 17th October, as the food will need to be ordered a week in advance.
Please pay by cash, cheque or BACS – latest at the next WI meeting on the 23rd October (by which time your food will already have been ordered, so no late cancellation will be possible).

Craft Club – 3rd October 2019

The next meeting of the Craft Club will be on Thursday, 3rd October 2019 at 7pm in the Lounge at the Congregational Church in Market Harborough. This month we will be making gifts for the Christmas Raffle. Bring your own project – all ideas welcome!

Annual General Meeting – 25th September

The Annual General Meeting of the Market Harborough WI will be held on Wednesday, 25th September 2019 at 7.30pm in the Congregational Church.

We will be giving an update to the member on the year and confirm the new Committee and President.

Guided Walk around Hallaton – Monday, 16th September at 6 pm

Bewicke Arms Hallaton

Our guide will take us on a walk around the charming village of Hallaton.   The meeting place is by the Butter Cross, opposite the Bewicke Arms.

Next Monthly Meeting – this Wednesday, 28th August 2018.

After the lovely, hot summer break, our regular monthly meetings resume this Wednesday at 7.30pm.

Our speaker will be  a visitor from the ‘Samaritans‘ who will explain to us all about the S.H.U.S.H. listening techniques.    Ever had a a friend, relative, or colleague you feel needs a bit of help?  Then learning how to really listen to people can often help them start to work through what is troubling them.

Also, coming up soon, will be two social events this Autumn:

  • Guided Walk around Hallaton  (September)
  • Skittles evening at The Bull, Clipston  (October)

Summer Update!

As you know, there was no monthly meeting this month due to our summer break.  However, MHWI members have still been making the most of the lovely, warm summer weather and enjoying various social events.

In particular, on Saturday, 6th July, fourteen of us put on our ‘glad rags’ (as you can see from our header image above) and set off for Leicester Racecourse to enjoy Ladies’ Day.  We spent an exciting afternoon watching the races, with some winners and losers, all helped along with a glass or two of  Pimms!

The races were then followed by a great live performance from Will Young.

Afterwards, music from Ana Matronic inspired some members to join in the dancing!

On 8th July, Book ‘Angels’ had an ‘open’ social at Casa Nostra Italian restaurant in Market Harborough

We tucked into a delicious meal and the only topics discussed on this occasion were all related to food and drink!
