Butterfly Image Consultancy – Changing Self Perceptions!

Having won a Style Consultation at the WI Christmas Raffle, I met with Victoria of Butterfly Image Consultancy  in her studio in Lubenham, just a short 5-minute drive from Market Harborough. Victoria was very welcoming and once we were settled over a cup of tea, she asked questions to find out my style personality, what parts of my body I felt comfortable about (and what not!), and the type of famous personality I identified my look with. It emerged that I tend towards the Natural style, with a bit of Classic and a sprinkling of the Dramatic!

Victoria then advised all the different types of shapes of clothes that were best suited to my body shape and tailored this to how confident I feel about different parts of my body. She gave excellent advice on how to use colour and accessories to brighten and lift every day outfits as well as giving guidance on work wear, evening wear and everyday clothes choices. Victoria also identified which shops would best suit my style and she recommended specific items of clothing that would most suit me. I was relieved to find out that I didn’t have to try to remember all of Victoria’s suggestions as she noted down everything as we went along. I was also given a tailored advice sheet on how to develop a capsule outfit and a diagram showing ideal necklines and sleeve, coat and hem lengths.

It was a really enjoyable and interesting consultation. Victoria gave me a fresh pair of eyes on how I view myself and I feel confident about trying out some different styles of clothes. Victoria also offers colour and makeup consultations. Ladies, if you’d like to feel more confident about your clothes choices, I recommend that you have a look at the website and get yourself booked in!

Handmade bouquet fun at Tippetts Florist

Tippetts florist-w500-h500
In the Christmas raffle, I was very lucky & won a voucher for £45 towards a floristry course at Tippetts florists in Oadby!

Last Saturday I joined a small group of ladies at Tippetts florists & we were taught how to create a hand tied bouquet!   The course was very informative, the tutors were friendly & helpful, we were given a great selection of flowers to work with & we all came away with a beautiful handmade bouquet! (All materials included in the price of the course).   I thoroughly enjoyed the day and picked up lots of new skills!

I would recommend Tippetts florists in Oadby if anyone is interested in a floristry course, it was very reasonably priced, the course content well thought out & the tutors were very knowledgeable. It was worth every penny!

Thank you WI, it was a great prize & I had a lovely day!     Emma Page, MHWI member

Christmas raffle helps young carers in Market Harborough

At the January monthly meeting earlier this week, Clare Farquahar, President, presented Diane from VASL (Voluntary Action South Leicestershire) with a cheque for £200 for their Young Carers Group.  Youngsters can be the sole carer in their family, looking after an adult.  This means that the young person cannot get out and take part in the fun activities enjoyed by their peers.

The Young Carers Group was formed approximately 5 years’ ago to provide opportunities not only for the youngsters to meet up but to enjoy some special outings just for them.   In the past, these have included ice skating, bowling and a day trip to Skegness.   The £200 raised by Market Harborough WI members from the Christmas 2014 raffle (all prizes generously donated by local businesses) will be used to fund a trip to Laserquest or to see Woman in Black.  An exciting choice for the young carers to make!

If you have a favourite local charity you would like MHWI to support in the future, then do let a Committee Member know or drop us an email Contact Us.
