Trip to Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens – Tuesday, 3rd July 2018.

This trip replaces the ‘Walking with Alpacas’ outing which, unfortunately,  had to be cancelled  due to insufficient numbers.

Instead, we are now meeting at Kelmarsh Hall & Gardens, Northants, on Tuesday, 3rd July 2018 at 11am at the main entrance to the house.   Tickets are priced at £10 each, or £9 for concessions, for entry to House and Gardens.    Just turn up and pay on arrival.  Bring friends along too!

Kibworth House 3 July 2018 trip

The house has recently undergone some renovations.  There are three new spaces – the Basement rooms, with the servant’s bedrooms, bake-house and wine cellar; the Hidden Tunnel used by the servants to move about without being seen; and the Laundry Rooms.  There are interactive displays so you can experience what it was like to live and work in a country house.

We’ll  be stopping for refreshments in the Old Stables Tea Room.  The weather forecast looks great so we should be able to make the most of the lovely gardens too!

More information about the Hall and how to get there can be found on the Kelmarsh Hall website:

‘Reading between the Wines!!’

Book Angels had a really great time at the Kibworth Big Bookshop Bash and Quiz last Tuesday, 19th June, held at the Kibworth Cricket Club.
Kibworth Book Quiz - on sale

Our quiz team, aptly named ‘Reading between the Wines’, ( well, we are a real Book Club after all) put in a very respectable performance, but were thwarted in the last section by some sneaky music related questions.

Kibworth Book Quiz - Book Angels on balcony

Our ticket entitled us to a drink and a delicious buffet, which we ate outside while relaxing on the terrace at the Cricket Club.   We were also given a goody bag containing literary treats.    Carmen even won a prize in the raffle.

Will definitely consider repeating this trip again next year.
