MHWI – Forthcoming Social Events

There are plenty of social events happening over the Summer for you to enjoy.  You can book at next week’s meeting or e-mail the relevant person to reserve a place.

Urgent – Walking with Alpacas in Charnwood Forest – Tuesday, 3rd July at 11am

Talk about alpacas, then a chance to take them for a walk in the gorgeous surroundings of Charnwood Forest.   Includes break for pancakes!  Cost £15.  Car sharing possible.

Walk to Great Bowden – Sunday, 29th July at 10 am

Meet at 10am at Sherrard Road/Ridgeway West, Market Harborough to join our Walking Group on a  3 mile walk to Great Bowden.  Should take just over an hour.  Three stiles to navigate.  Walking boots recommended.  Friends welcome.

Family Day Out to Wistow Rural Centre & Maze – Saturday, 18th August at 9.45am

A chance to bring your family and friends along for a fun day out at Wistow Maze.  Individuals  also welcome.  Takes approximately 1hr 30mins – 2hrs to complete the Maze, but you can get out earlier if needs be!  There are also shops and a café there too.

Pay on arrival.  ONLY CASH AND CHEQUES!

Prices as follows:   Adults £6.95. Child under 13 £5.95.   Child under 2 free.  Family ticket (2 adults and 2 children) £24.00.

Meet Jan Cooper in the car park next to the Maze (opposite Rural Centre) at 9.45am (look for an orange car!).  Please let Jan know you are coming, so she can organise teams:


Trip to the University of Leicester’s Botanic Gardens, Oadby, Leicester – Thursday, 13th September, at 2pm

Includes a guided tour around these lovely gardens.   Then afterwards,  relax and enjoy tea and cake.   Price £8.50 each.
