The next meeting of the MHWI Book Club will be on Monday, 21st May 2018 at 7.45pm when members will be discussing ‘Consider the Fork’ by Bee Wilson – a social history of how we cook and eat.
Given the culinary nature of the book, we thought this seemed like a good excuse to go out for a meal!! So, for this month we will be meeting at:
Veneto’s Italian Restaurant
17 Manor Walk
Market Harborough
LE16 9BP

All MHWI members are very welcome to join us – you don’t need to have read the book – just come along if you fancy a meal and a social night out!
Just let Valerie Hitchcox know if you intend to come so we know what size table to book.

The next meeting of Book ‘Angels’ will be held at The Angel Hotel, Market Harborough, starting at 8pm on the above date.
Gemma, one of our Craft Club members, gave a very informative talk about types of tea and described how and where it is grown with photographs and samples of white, black, green and oolong tea. Apparently, Rooibos tea is not made from the tea plant at all, but from a South African thistle! We also saw a bag of tea that by weight was more expensive than gold!
