Then watch out for more details of our exciting social event being planned for Friday 20 May at Revolution, Leicester. You’ll be show how to make some cocktails, enjoy a delicious meal and have great fun with other MHWI members.
You can also speak to Vicky Watts, Social Programme Co-ordinator at the February monthly meeting or drop her an email: marketharboroughwi@gmail.com
If you have a craft and would like to have your own stall at our Craft Fair at the Old Grammar School on Saturday 16 April 2016, then do email us to book your place. It’s just £10 per stall: marketharboroughwi@gmail.com There will be a small charge for each stall. You can also let a committee member know at the monthly meeting next week, the 24th.
More details will be given out at forthcoming monthly meetings. But, in the meantime, Get Crafting!
Make sure you put this date in your diaries. The fabulous touring Mikron Theatre will be here again at 7.30 pm in the Congregational Church, Bowden Lane with their new show Canary Girls. If it’s as good as Raising Agents last year, it will be brilliant.
Details of how to buy your tickets will be available soon.
Are you free on Wednesday 6 April? Several members of the MHWI committee will be going to see this evening broadcast at the Savoy Cinema, Corby. We thought it would be a natural follow on from the March monthly meeting on The Royal Opera House where Annabel Smith’s daughter will be coming up from London to give members a peek behind the scenes to find out more about the design and production of the costumes and scenery.
If you would like to meet up before the performance at the Savoy then go ahead and book your tickets. Just let Clare, Carmen or Annabel know before the 6th April so they can look out for your group.
If so, there are 2 tickets left for MHWI members to attend the WI Welland Annual Group Meeting in Caldecott (who are hosting the event this year). There will be supper, a speaker talking about the life of a Royal butler) and brief updates from all WIs in the Group. If you would like to join some of your Committee members on the 10th, email: marketharboroughwi@gmail.com or speak to Isabel (Secretary) at the monthly meeting on 24 February.
Do you have unwanted or broken jewellery? It can be costume, gold, silver, beads, broken watches or odd earrings. All items can be put to good use to raise money for Heart Research UK – The Treasure Chest Appeal
Items collected at the March monthly meeting by MHWI members will be taken by a Committee member to the Leicestershire and Rutland Federation of WI’s 2016 Annual Council Meeting on 12 March.
Start sifting through your drawers and wardrobes now for all those unwanted items that just sit there.
There’s loads to catch up on in the March newsletter, so why not make a cuppa and settle down for a read? NFWI news – March 2016 (pdf version)
Articles introduce Autumn Antics when the WI is planning a WI Sports Week from 12 -1 8 September which your MHWI will be supporting with lots of local activities. Others span the Women of the World week 8 to 13 March, how to become a judge for baking competitions, updates on gardening and crafts and even some pretty, new bags and tea towels to purchase.
Check these county events being planned for later this spring. They include a Batik Silk Workshop, Lunch Club, Spring Lunch with speaker Judith Hibbert and the latest County Diary. Full details on each flyer.
Bookings usually have to go through our Secretary, Isabel and you can email her on: marketharboroughwi@gmail.com or speak to her at the monthly meeting next week.
Hopefully you have paid your subs for 2016 but, if not, they must be paid by the 24th, our next meeting date (we have to follow the NFWI regulations on this one). Cash or cheque are fine or, better still, bank transfer. Click for full details.
