Tickets for Canary Girls selling out fast
Tickets are selling out fast so get yours now to see a performance of “Canary Girls”, a play written by Mikron Theatre. Mikron Theatre wrote, produced and performed the specially written “Raising Agents” show last year in honour of our centenary celebrations. Family and friends very welcome.

CANARY GIRLS:
Summer 1914.
Sisters Rose and Lizzie work as maids, a world of deference, bed-making and poor pay. When war breaks, adventure-seeking Rose becomes a shell worker, persuading her procedure loving sister Lizzie, to follow her to a world offering more money, exciting work and union activity. It seems like a new start.
But as the sisters discover the dangers of shell work, they realise their dreams are pulling in opposite directions.
As old and new worlds collide on the factory floor, each sister must ultimately decide, which takes more courage – following your dreams, or giving them up for the ones you love?
Funny, heartfelt and tender. Mikron presents a tale of two sisters well and truly at war.

Unwanted bras and new pants needed for a good cause
Women and families in Africa would love to have your unwanted bras and new pants, so if you have bras that didn’t fit or you just don’t like put them to one side and bring them along to the next monthly meeting. They can be teen bras or nursing bras, too.
Pants are much needed, too. Next time you buy some pants, pick up a spare pack, too (donations of these must be new!). These can be for children aged 3 to 15 years or womens’, sizes 8 to 16.
Bring them along to the monthly meeting on 27 April. We’re collecting for Smalls for Africa. We’ll be sending off our collection after the April meeting. You can also speak to Vicky Watts at the next monthly meeting or email: marketharboroughwi@gmail.com
Another amazing success – our first craft fair!

Market Harborough WI held their first ever craft fair today! Another great first and held in our town’s landmark Old Grammar School. Thanks to all concerned for their hard work, especially Patsy, Evanda, Virgina, Fiona, Ann and Sarah who braved the cold and made fantastic sales on the cake and “shop-in-a-box” stalls.
Talking of cakes! A huge thank you for all the donations! The quantity and the quality was amazing.
We would also like to thank all the ladies from other WI’s that supported the event. Melton Afternoons, Charnwood WIgs and Cam City helped make the event and we hope they were pleased with their sales. It was a great event to share ideas and support each other and we hope to do more of this in the future.

Remember to call into the Old Grammar School today and support our WI craft fair. It’s open from 11 am to 3 pm. Friends and family very welcome, too.

Don’t forget it’s the Craft Fair at The Grammar School tomorrow. Cake donations would be extremely welcome. Either drop off at The Grammar School before 11am on Saturday or call 07547 890756 to arrange drop off with Isabel today.

Visit our craft fair this Saturday
When you are in town this Saturday, do call into the Old Grammar School on High Street and say hello. The MHWI craft fair will be running from 11 am to 3 pm.It’s a great chance to pick up some unique items for yourself or buy prezzies. Several MHWI members will be having stalls as well as MHWI Crafts (the recently established hobby group). There will be a WI cake stall, too.
We’re also delighted to welcome several visiting WIs: Crafty Pink Giraffe, M:Made, Arty Crafty Tea Party, Cam City Crafts, Melton Afternoon Crafts and Charnwood WIg’s, as well as Shop in a Box (Federation items).
A chance to bring friends and family, too. See you there!
Sugarcraft workshop reminder

Reminder that we have the Great British Bake Off contestant, Ben Frazer, demonstrating sugarcraft at our April meeting on 27th April. Do bring £3 with you for supplies so that you can take part in the workshop and practise your decorating skills.
