Donate unwanted jewellery and raise money for heart research

jewlleryDo you have unwanted or broken jewellery?  It can be costume, gold, silver, beads, broken watches or odd earrings.  All items can be put to good use to raise money for Heart Research UK – The Treasure Chest Appeal

Items collected at the March monthly meeting by MHWI members will be taken by a Committee member to the Leicestershire and Rutland Federation of WI’s 2016 Annual Council Meeting on 12 March.

Start sifting through your drawers and wardrobes now for all those unwanted items that just sit there.

Dates to change on your calendars

We have made a couple of changes to the published programme for 2016, so please amend these on the programme booklet or, if you’re super organised, your calendars!

July meeting – will be a social event – details, date, etc to be confirmed nearer the time

24 August – monthly meeting with speaker Sam of Iridescence Jewellery

21 December –  monthly meeting – Christmas Social – a chance to relax and congratulate ourselves by saying we’re almost ready for Christmas (or not!)

We’re looking forward to seeing lots of our members this evening at 7.30 pm.  Time to Christmas tree decorations-w500-h500have fun and relax.

Remember:

  • Bring a bottle of your favourite drink and glass.
  • If you wish, bring a gift for the Secret Swap Raffle; something you have made or bought, price limit £3 (no need to giftwrap).
  • Dress – wear whatever Christmas outfit you like or just come as you are.
  • Food – bring something sweet or savoury to share on the big table.   See you there.

Get ready for our Christmas social next week

Get the festive season off to a brilliant start on Wednesday 16 December, 7.30 pm. holly-w500-h500  There’s lots to tell you about:

  • Bring a bottle of your favourite drink (alcoholic, juice, whatever) and glass.  There will be no tea and coffee.
  • If you wish, bring something for the Secret Swap Raffle; something you have made or bought, price limit £3 (no need to giftwrap).  This will go into the raffle and you will be given a ticket in exchange.  Everyone who donates a prize will win something!
  • Dress – wear whatever you like, for instance, ball gown, Christmas jumper, t shirt, onesy  or design and make something whacky.  You can, of course, just come as you are.
  • Food – it’s a sharing (Dutch) supper, so please bring something sweet or savoury to share on the big table.
  • Christmas quiz – have fun with other members on your table to see if you team knows all the answers.
  • Christmas raffle – this will be drawn on the night and there will be 30 lucky winners of the 30 superb prizes, generously donated by local organisations
