Tonight the Craft Club is starting to make items for the MHWI raffle in November. The group meets in the Lounge at the Congregational Church in Bowden Lane, 7 to 9 pm. Small charge for room hire and light refreshments available. New members very welcome.

Next year the Leicestershire and Rutland Federation of WIs is 100 years’ old. You can join in these unique celebrations on Saturday 18 March 2018 at Bruntingthorpe (it’s even on our side of the county). Tickets £14 and the event is for WI members only (it should be a huge event as all the WI members in the 2 counties are invited). Book your place for the cocktail night
Waterfront– join other MHWI members for a fabulous Cocktail night on Wednesday 8th November – 7.30 pm, at the Waterfront, Unon Wharf, Market Harborough. £17.50 to include platters of food.. Book your place at tonight’s monthly meeting (cash or cheque, please).
Things to remember – September monthly meeting
Tonight is our annual meeting. Your chance to celebrate another successful year with other members and the Committee. Maybe you have some great ideas on what you’d like to see happening next year? If so, It’s your chance, too, to step up, and make those things happen.
We’ll be celebrating with a Dutch Supper (everyone brings a plate of food, sweet or savoury, to share). Bring a couple of glasses, too, and your favourite tipple.
Other things to remember:
- Bring along any unwanted books you wish to donate to the Book Sale. Pick up some more autumn evening reading for just £1 a title. or 4 for £3.
- Raffle – bring along a decorated jar of small items for this month’s raffle Can’t wait to see what surprising things members can put in a jar. Now there’s a challenge!
- Pick up a scarf bargain for the autumn – we’ll have some for sale.
- Guess the number of buttons in a jar – £1 entry and a prize for the best guess.
Your unwanted books wanted
Bring your unwanted books (for any age group or interest) along for our book sale. Better still, pick up a bargain for yourself for an evening read now that the days are drawing in: £1 each or 4 for £3.
