COCKTAIL NIGHT AT THE WATERFRONT

A great night was had by all at the MHWI Cocktail Evening held at the Waterfront Restaurant, Market Harborough on Wednesday, 8th November 2017.     Members were shown how to make and sample (of course) a variety of cocktails, as well as enjoying delicious platters of food.

Also, welcome to our recently elected President, Anne Clayton, shown below.   It’s great to see that Anne is quickly developing a taste for her new role!

Thornton’s Jewellers – fascinating talk!

Ever wanted to know more about our local jeweller’s – Thornton’s? Tim Thornton is giving a talk at tomorrow’s meeting about this well known local business which is sure to be a fascinating subject!
 
Also, if members have any old towels they wish to donate for animal bedding for the ‘Exotic Animals’ we saw in July, please could you bring them along – but not too many!

Ticket for breadery and floral demonstration in Market Harborough

A ticket has become available for this popular event on Saturday 25 November, organised by the Federation Home Economics team; demonstrations, wine and lunch are all included.  It is in Market Harborough this year at the Methodist Church. Next year the Leicestershire and Rutland Federation of WIs is 100 years’ old.  You can join in these unique celebrations on Saturday 18 March 2018 at Bruntingthorpe (it’s even on our side of the county).  Tickets £14 and the event is for WI members only (it should be a huge event as all the WI members in the 2 counties are invited).  So put the date on your calendar now and get together with other MHWI members to make a memorable day of it.  Full details of times and speakers attached: ACM 2018 flyer
