On behalf of the NFWI Food and Garden Committee, I am writing to request your feedback about different learning approaches when it comes to helping members developing their baking, cookery and preserving skills.

Towards the end of this month we will be asking members the following question on social media to try and find out which learning methods have the greatest appeal and relevance:

Which form of learning would most appeal to you for improving your baking, cooking and preserving skills?

1) Practical courses at Denman

2) Practical workshops in your local area

3) Distance learning online course (work at home in your own time)

4) Certificate course in your local area which involves home study, practical sessions and producing coursework

5) Demonstration videos

Or any other suggestions?

We would be very keen to hear back from federations about what would be practical and preferable from your perspective.

The NFWI Food and Garden Committee remains committed to offering fair and inclusive opportunities to all federations to encourage and support the practical development and application of cookery skills. It has been agreed that future educational opportunities or initiatives created by the Food and Garden Committee will need to be member-led in order to ensure significant nationwide take-up.

As not all members use social media, we would be grateful if you could you kindly pass on this information to your WIs, and ask that any feedback is passed back to me, either by email or letter to the below address, by Monday 25 September 2017.
