Whow! So many things to do around the county

Federation have just issued details of a whole load of events around the city and county.  You will be spoilt for choice on what to do.  Why not get together with other MHWI members, car share and make an outing?

To tempt you, there is a garden tour at Brooksby College, followed by refreshments (including an evening option),    There are two competitions: a quiz with a local venue in Little Bowden (let’s put MHWI on the map by getting a team together) and a photograph competition (you have all summer to click away).

Crafts include crochet and handstitched cards (panels for cards and memory books).  You can also learn Indoor Bowls, join others at the monthly Lunch Club or attend a Faith Visit in Leicester.  Looking ahead, there’s a holiday for members and non-members at Warners, Cricket St Thomas next January.

Be in it to win it!

‘Let’s put Market Harborough WI even more firmly on the map: win a competition.’  That’s the challenge set to Clare, our President on behalf of members.  So, come on ladies, there’s several to choose from, whatever your hidden skills – writing, art, gardening and crocheting: competitions

Crochet skills raffle prize ‘such fun’

MHWI member Jenny Hirst reports, ‘My grand-daughter and I have just had our 3rd session of learning how to crochet with Clare Farquhar, our president.
‘We have had such fun and Clare was not phased at all with Imi (14 yrs) being left handed. I have refreshed an old skill and Imi  has learnt a new one, and with the extra help from a YouTube video for left handers, she has produced her own designs.
‘Clare was patient, enthusiastic and eager to show us her extraordinary creativity. A great raffle prize, please let’s have another one soon.
‘I must admit I put off claiming my prize for a few weeks, but I am so pleased I did stake my claim.
‘Thank you Clare, you were great!!’
