Wear It Fashion Show – do you have your tickets?

Fashion show-w500-h500It’s not too late to buy your tickets for the fashion show on Friday 1 March 2013, starting at 7.30 pm at the Congregational Hall, Bowden Lane.  Members will be modelling the outfits, so come along and give them your support.
Clothes are being provided by Daisy Chain and will be hosted by Wendy.  WI models will have an exciting time being made up for free by Kara and 3 of her colleagues, who are coming along from ‘The Beauty Manor’, whilst Paula from Randall Harrison will be doing their hair.   Oh how exciting to be made up for free!!!!
Buy your tickets this Wednesday at the monthly meeting (£3.50) or £5 on the night or contact us.  See you there!

Clairvoyance evening success

Cystal ball-w500-h500A belated thanks to clairvoyant, Alison, from Australia, who met with Market Harborough WI members and visitors at the Angel Hotel in Market Harborough on 9 January.  After a delicious meal Alison demonstrated her clairvoyance skills.

Lynda Meadows, Prgramme Secretary says, “Brilliant night! Allison is a great medium and I have now seen her on several occasions. Alison’s bubbly personality and incredible ability ensures a relaxed and fascinating evening. Looking forward to seeing her again.”

WI member Tina Fortum and her daughter both attended, too.  Tina reports, “Both Gemma and myself thoroughly enjoyed the evening with Alison.  We found it not only fascinating but extremely enjoyable. She made everyone feel at ease when it came to personal issues. We would very much want to attend another evening with Alison if the opportunity arises.  We wouldn’t hesitate in recommending a medium evening with her to friends and family.”

How bodyguards work – Wednesday, 27 February

BodyguardMarc ROWLEY, from Natural Self Defence, is the visiting speaker on 27 February.  Marc is based in Husbands Bosworth. His passion is teaching self defence using natural body movements not strength.
Using natural body movements that can be used in times of induced stress, you will be able to confidently repel attackers, intent on causing you harm, without the need to remember complex moves.
Marc has spent the last 12 years looking for self defence moves/techniques that work under fear induced situations.
A fun and informative evening and a chance to have a go.

January monthly meeting – a couple of things!

Egyptian dancerDo join us for a fun and friendly evening of Egyptian Dancing on Wednesday 23 January 2013.  Rose Metaxa will demonstrate and there’ll be a chance to have a go.  So checkout your wardrobe for that floaty scarf with coins you’ve always wanted to wear and didn’t dare, and bring it along.  You could be the star of the evening!

Membership fees – these are now overdue.  Do remember to bring along your cheque book or some cash.  It’s £33 but where else can you have 11 nights’ out for £3 each?  Not only that, you can meet new friends and try out new things.

There’s an exciting social programme too, so remember to check out the noticeboards when you come along and put your name down.  Again, have some spare cash with you to put down a deposit when booking.

Christmas presents-w500-h500If you have any unwanted gifts that you can donate to our monthly raffle, then pop them in a bag and bring them along and give to any commitee member.

Book groupFinished reading your Christmas books?  Then bring them along and donate them to the book box so someone else can enjoy them, too.  You can browse through the box and for a small donation to MHWI fund raising you can even take away a book of your choice to while away these dark winter evenings.
